The new house DINING ROOM / Before and after

Our dining room is tucked off to the side of our living room and its a dining room / pass through to the kitchen so its pretty small. We end up eating in the kitchen most nights so this space is perfect for working on bills and things like that at night. I like that I don't have to clean up my table for us to eat at every night! And you have a good view to the tv from here so its great at night after the girls go to bed to get stuff done!
before.
All we had to do in here was paint and switch out the light fixture so it ended up being our easiest update.

Our tulip table from the old house was the perfect size with our trusty eames chairs. I painted a vintage armoire a fun chartreuse to add some color and layered a cowhide with a vintage ebay fine for some depth. Our DIY chandelier (find original tutorial I used on Little Green Notebook) was perfect with old drapes from the old house. The most fun thing we did was the DIY floating console. I wanted storage but thought the space was so small that a lot of furniture would feel heavy, the fact that this console doesn't go to the ground means it doesn't take up too much visual space.
We looked at this DIY from amber interiors but we ended up not using the ikea console she used because we needed less depth. We did order the doors from Ikea 'wait for it' $3 a piece. I know right?? We used a good birch plywood from home depot and had them rip it down to 12" in the store for us. Luke built the box and added the doors and we love it!
