HEY THERE, I'M EILEEN

Eileen (me) and co (my three little daily sidekicks) exists to document my design journey. Right now that journey looks like staying at home with my three girls, design blogging, renovating our current house and designing and selling bedswings with my husband. Before kids it looked like an Architecture degree, a career working for an interior designer and flipping houses. Down the road I'll jump back into design and house flipping but right now I'm the official sandwich maker and diaper changer. I get paid less but smooshing baby cheeks makes it worth it.

Sharing all about the twins closet on my stories and how I save money on kids clothes, because it’s expensive to dress three toddlers who want to wear clothes everyday. ✨ Over the past couple of years I’ve really honed how I buy new good quality (mainly Gap and some JCrew) for the girls at a price that I can afford (what I shoot for is 75% off original price and I normally get it!) ✨ Also this space in the twin’s room is one of my favorites! We took a single closet and awkward built in situation into double matching closets and a reading nook. Hey guys 👋🏻 It’s me, Eileen of @eileenandco_ . The co of my account are my three little sidekicks, twin four year olds and a 1 year old. Right now as my girls are so young I’m staying home with them but as my twins start kindergarten this fall I’ll be starting working again. Working as what? Well I’m so glad you asked. ✨ Before the twins were born I worked for an interior design firm and my degree is in architecture (from Clemson- go Tigers!) I spent a lot of time on job sites and my speciality is spacial design. I’ll be getting back into it in some form, maybe flipping houses which is my true love. ✨ What can you expect from this space? We’ve been slow flipping our current house for 4 years and I’m always sharing our DIYs and current projects. My goal is professional looking results for a DIY budget (like these $350 DIY hardwood floors). I’m also getting back into redoing furniture, something I did for clients when I worked for the design firm. I’ll be sharing my tips and processes for professional looking finishes. Some of the pieces will even be for sale if you are local to #yeahthatgreenville ! ✨ Right now I’m working on a blog post sharing my anxiety story. If I can encourage anyone who has gone through what I have then it’s a win. I’m also working on a blog post about the $350 before and after of our master bedroom- this space I’m standing in. Uh oh she figured out the stairs! Luke just got back late last night from a week long trip to China and boy were we glad to see him! He travels quite a bit for work and we try really hard to set me and the girls up for success while he is gone. Here’s a couple things that makes a big difference in how I feel being on my own for a week at the time with three littles 4 and under. ✨ Baths? The twins took a bath tonight for the first time in 4 days- if you don’t count the “indoor pool” they had time when I put them in the tub with goggles. ✨ I plan out all our meals for while he is gone and try to make some ahead of time, most with a lot of servings so we can have leftovers for lunch. This past week before he left I made a big thing of stuffed peppers and put it in the freezer. I made a big thing of soup the day before he left so we had that and made crockpot spaghetti another night. We also plan out picking up dinner and eating out nights to break it all up. ✨ I think we brushed the girls teeth most days but I’m honestly not sure 🤣 ✨ So I guess my main tip is to relax your normal and give yourself grace. Make sure everyone eats good food (makes the biggest difference for me!) and who really cares about baths every day? Any favorite tips you have for when one of you is traveling a lot? This year ahead has lots of travel so anything I can do to set us up for success I’m all about!
It’s Friday night and I plan on being in bed by 9:30. It’s my favorite kind of Friday night- what about you? 👵🏻
